Project Overview
The construction of this hi-spec office building is set to become the new global headquarters for cybersecurity firm PortSwigger. It comprises 62,000 sq ft of floor space set across two stories complete with timber cladding and landscaped gardens that have been designed to complement and blend into the surrounding woodland area. Set in 220 acres of scenic Cheshire parkland, Booths Park offers high-quality workspaces for many high-growth businesses. In addition to the main parking area a large overflow parking area was created. The architects and contractors selected the Nidagravel NG040 gravel stabilisation system for the project which offered the best solution for a permeable, SuDS-compliant, and durable gravel surface for the project.

Installation Details
The layout of the fully permeable gravel car park surface created using Nidagravel NG040 gravel girds was carefully planned by the landscape architects to provide an attractive parking area. The scheme also included gabion walls, concrete edgings, native tree and hedge planting, ornamental planting and exterior lighting. Extensive groundworks were required for the external works and base construction of the car park. A reinforced concrete retaining wall faced with stone gabions was constructed to the rear of the building as the overflow car park sits on a sloping part of the site. Due to the large scale of the car park, the contractors were able to complete the gravel stabilisation grid installation in sections. This allowed for a section of grids to be installed and filled with gravel whilst final base preparation was being completed on other sections ensuring speedy and efficient installation of the system.
