Nidacell EP Rainwater Attenuation and Infiltration System
Undergound Stormwater Management System
The Nidacell EP is a lightweight rainwater storage system designed and manufactured by Nidaplast. Nidacell EP can be used for underground stormwater retention, attenuation and infiltration projects to meet the SuDS requirements of the site.
Stormwater Retention, Attenuation, and Infiltration System
The Nidacell EP system helps meet some of the key principles governing the design of Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SuDS) which include storing rainwater runoff and releasing it slowly, referred to as attenuation, and allowing rainwater to soak into the ground, referred to as infiltration. This prevents large volumes of stormwater from rapidly entering the local drainage system and overwhelming it which can lead to flooding and pollution.
Nidacell EP is designed for the creation of underground geocellular attenuation and infiltration tanks. The modules or blocks are manufactured from polypropylene and supplied to the work site 'ready to install' with no assembly required. Nidacell EP offers flexible configurations and tanks can easily be constructed to meet the space available on site. This makes installation very quick, saving time on-site and reducing installation costs. Nidacell EP modules can be used to create both underground stormwater attenuation tanks and infiltration soakaways subject to their design. Nidacell EP is also available in a range of different compressive strengths allowing for different depths of backfill on top of the tank and for various surface finishes including roads, car parking, hard and soft landscaped finishes.
There are many benefits to using Nidacell EP for your underground rainwater tank. The speed of installation is one important benefit and this can result in time and cost savings on-site. The blocks do not need connecting, offsetting the blocks when laying ensures structural stability. The Nidacell EP system also requires minimal maintenance as the geotextile fabric welded to the top and bottom of each block prevents the ingress of fine particles into the storage modules.
