A beautifully designed front garden by Jaki Grosvenor Garden Design and built by Nordland Landscapes featuring natural stone and Nidagravel grid paths and a gorgeous planting scheme.

Project Overview
This contemporary front garden in West Finchley, London was designed by garden designer, Jaki Grosvenor. As with many suburban properties, the front garden of this semi-detached house in North London had been almost entirely paved over. The owners wanted a practical solution to improve the look of the front garden whilst retaining parking for one car and safe, level access across the garden to the front door. In order to improve the aesthetic of the front of the property and adhere to sustainable drainage strategies, additional planting beds were reinstated to soak up excess rainwater and prevent flooding. As the garden was on a slope, a natural-looking, permeable paving solution was proposed for the driveway and paths. A low-maintenance planting scheme consisting of ornamental grasses, small shrubs, and bulbous perennials for year-round curb appeal was proposed, proving you can park cars and still have room for plants.

Installation Details
The total transformation of this urban front garden in London involved a number of hard landscaping elements including new retaining walls constructed in block and brickwork, beautifully rendered with natural stone copings. The construction of new steps and path leading to the front door and a contemporary gravel and stone step-stone style path leading to the driveway. The landscaper's attention to detail and ensuring the finishes were just right is clear to see in the finished project. Nidagravel 129 gravel grids were selected and carefully cut to fit to ensure the gravel sections in the garden design were also perfectly finished. A beautiful planting scheme was then added including the planting of an olive tree and a range of drought-tolerant plants to complete the overall design.

The Finished Results
This project is a great example of how an experienced garden designer and a team of expert landscapers really can transform a space. The difference the scheme has made is truly amazing. The owners must look forward to coming home every day and seeing this beautiful and welcoming front garden.

Quote from the Landscapers
"Clean lines, simplicity, and a decidedly seaside feel are the hallmarks of this sustainable front garden in North London. Designed to be transportive and to lift the spirits, and the neighbourhood. Who needs to go on holiday."
Daniel O'Neill, Owner, Nordland Landscapes
