Nidagravel gravel grids used for new visitor center car park at Hearing Dogs For Deaf People

Hearing Dogs for Deaf People is a great charity that trains dogs to help deaf people with the challenges of everyday life that present themselves when the ability to hear has been lost. The Charity is based at The Grange in Saunderton, Buckinghamshire where it has been training clever dogs to help deaf people since 1982 with over 900 dogs currently working in partnership with a deaf person across the UK.

As part of the great work the Charity is doing, a new visitor centre and facilities were required. The new visitor centre incorporates a restaurant and gift shop along with parking facilities for visitors. Nidagravel 140 gravel stabilisation grids were selected for the project and installed by the main contractor, Atrium Construction Solutions, appointed to undertake the full construction of the visitor centre and all external works including the Nidagravel car park.

The stable and permeable surface that Nidagravel creates was ideal for the visitor centre project. Not only is a gravel surface visually attractive and in keeping with the location, it is also very user-friendly and provides a suitable surface for disabled access. The free-draining Nidagravel surface also means underground drains to deal with surface runoff are not required. This combined with the quick and simple to install system delivers a cost-effective option for the gravel car park required by the Charity.

We hope to visit the new Visitor Centre soon to see the Nidagravel car park and make a donation to the charity to aid the good work that they do.
