RIBA 2017 Award Winner - Highgate House

Highgate House designed by Carmody Groarke Architects is, without doubt, a striking and bold piece of architecture. Described by Grand Designs presenter, Kevin McCloud, as being almost brutal and monumental, the house certainly is great example of minimalist architecture. Love it or hate it, you have to admire the designs and certainly its construction. Build by New Wave London, the build quality of Highgate House is without question, they obviously employ some very talented bricklayers. With a garden designed by Arne Maynard, who is renown for using plants to create the main structure of the garden, the garden design compliments the house well with its rows of pleached trees, lines of clipped standards and blocks of formal hedging which echo the lines of the building.
